Human Resource – Import. In Present And Post Covid-19- In today’s scenario, companies are telecommuting, everything is work from home-based. During the coronavirus pandemic, it has forced every organization to re-evaluate the mode to conduct business. Not only the organization but employees also have to find out ways of continuing business with the least disruption, also to find ways to work safely and securely.

Earlier work from home was considered as an excuse by the employees for not working, but post covid-19 pandemic, it has drastically changed the of the organizations and even employees by working from home by building the mutual trust between them which is one of the major challenge’s organizations are facing. Organizations need to be sure that employees continue to work and meet established standards, complete the tasks before time. Having the capability to work from home has become the new norm across many organizations. Many of the workers feel they are equally or even more productive when they are working from home because they don’t have to deal with the various interruptions and distractions which used to reduce their productivity pre-covid scenario.

As the human resource works as bridging the gap between the higher authorities (boss) and the employees. Previously all the work was done within the organization but now the HR function has been increased as there is no face-to-face interaction with the HR and remote working has made it a bit difficult for HR to work efficiently and effectively as before. Remote working is also impacting the employees’ mental health which is compelling them to support managers with learning remote management skills by sensitively communicating the consequences of the pandemic on the business organizations.

Post Covid-19,

organizations need to maintain trust, transparency, and should also focus on building communication to restore productivity and deliver employee experience. Organizations have to make a lot of adjustments in their business plans and the ways of working. In my opinion, the Human Resource department plays a vital role in the success of any organization and is to be placed as the heart of the organization.

The human resource helps in developing and keeping the workforce engaged through this challenging period. Employees might be struggling with feelings of uncertainty, isolation, anxiety, stress, and many more. Such challenges, the role of HR becomes more crucial in this scenario. Considering all the challenges, the human resource is going to be the lifeline of the organization. And require to handle this post-pandemic situation with the utmost care and diligence. It takes the holistic view by ensuring the talent requirement in the organization and also emphasizes improving the employee experience which is providing employees with an environment where they want to work, they feel energized, feel free to be what they are to get the best out of them and are comfortable with the working culture at each point of time in the employee life cycle.

Human resource

Human resource is the umbrella term that describes the development as well as management of the employees within an organization which ultimately improves employee engagement and productivity, reduces employee turnover. It not only owns talent management activities but also supports the development of positive work culture which helps in retaining the personnel. Personnel is the greatest resource, treating them fairly and providing them with opportunities to grow will help them in achieving the organizational goals which pre-determine.  It involves keeping and motivating employees to stay with the organization.

Starting from recruiting which means probing for prospective employees. And motivating them to apply for the jobs and then identifying the right person for the right position to programs that help in the systematic development of knowledge, skills, and attitude required for a particular job which in turn improves the performance of personnel’s, resulting in enhancing the organization performance too.

Performance management is also a big part of human resources, almost every person has some of the other skills gaps. It helps in addressing those issues and an effective performance management system. Assist managers to offer support to employees who are in need of it and recognize the most effective employee. Before evaluating, the human resource manager needs to make sure that employees are physically and mentally fit to give their best performance. In order to evaluate, they need to focus on the quality and quantity of work performed instead of working hours. It helps in strengthening weak points. In the organization by investing in the employees gives a competitive edge. And also minimizes the loopholes within the organization.

HR

HR works with the business to identify the organization’s structure and tools which support employee productivity and performance. It also manages employee relation issues and aims to resolve them with minimal risks and focuses on employee satisfaction. It also focuses on maintaining labor relations. And union-management relations, handling grievances and complaints within the organization by emphasizing the welfare of employees.

The human resource helps personnel to achieve their career goals. And they also deal with day-to-day personnel management. As they counsel them about career paths. Within the organization and guide them to decide what is most suitable for them. It also supports the organization’s growth and expansion with the help of workforce planning. To increase the morale of employees while they are working from home. The HR department is required to conduct wellness programs and also emphasizes their health and safety.

Every organization has some policies which define the role of HR in the organization to ensure transparency. This aims at achieving employee satisfaction as well as accomplishing the pre-determined organizational goals. These policies are to frame keeping in mind the ground realities and the employee’s friendly working environment. These are the set of guiding principles that govern how employees have been treated in the organization.

It seems complicated, getting the right working culture isn’t easy?

It requires a multi-pronged approach which also requires constant nurturing.

Managing staff also takes time and requires specific skills. HR is the only area that has expertise where it lacks in business owners.
