Health Care and Pharmacy Recent events-

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notification dated 30th January 2021. A new variant of SARS- CoV-2 virus had been reported by the Government of the United Kingdom (UK) to World Health Organization (WHO). In addition to the UK, cases of the variant SARS- CoV-2 virus have been reported from 60 other countries as of 19th January 2021, according to media and official sources. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare after deliberating with the Ministry of Civil Aviation has decided to allow flights from the UK to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai airports with guidelines and these operations will continue till 14th February 2021 or till a further order is pass, whichever is earlier.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notification dated 14 January 2021 with regard to the COVID-19 vaccine. A factsheet for both COVISHIELD and COVAXIN was release with precautions and contraindications.

The Department of Pharmaceuticals issued a notification Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) to promote domestic manufacturing of Medical X-Ray Machines and

specified sub-assemblies / parts / sub-parts thereof on 22 January 2021 for the Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) for

the promotion of domestic manufacturing of medical X-ray machines and specified sub-assemblies.

The Budget 2021 had a variety of benefits to the health sector. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a centrally sponsored scheme for the healthcare sector.
The PM’s Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana’ will be launch with a total outlay of Rs 64,180 crore over a period of the next 6 years. The Finance Minister said that the main focus of the scheme is on developing capacities of healthcare systems, develop institutions for detection and
cure of new and emerging diseases.
The Rajasthan High Court on 5th May 2020 held that safety measures and
precaution should be maintain for prisoners at Jaipur district jail in the case of Suo Motu V. State of Rajasthan[1].
In Amit Bhargava V. The State (NCT of Delhi)[2] the Delhi High Court on 11th May 2020 held that quarantine period can exceed 14 days.
